“Can I ask you something personal, Boone?”

I nod as I keep stroking Daisy’s buttery-soft arm. We’re lying in her bed, recovering from our third round of having sex. Or making love. Or fucking. “What were some of the shitty things that happened?”

I shrug. “My car getting stolen. A girlfriend cheating on me. A family member getting really sick. That sort of stuff.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. I shouldn’t have let it all affect me so much. Everyone deals with troubles in life.”

She shakes her head, then sits up and looks at me with tenderness. “No. I love that you’re sensitive, Boone. It’s a really sweet quality.”

I give her thigh a grateful squeeze. “Tell me something I don’t know about you yet.”

“Hmm.” She smiles, drumming her fingers on her dimpled chin. “Let’s see. My birthday is February twenty-ninth. Growing up, other kids loved to tease me about how I didn’t get a birthday most years. But my parents always made a big deal about celebrating it, no matter what year it was. Oh, also, I’ve always wanted to hike the Grand Canyon. I think that would be so amazing.”

“Let’s do it,” I say.

“Really?” She laughs. “Sorry. I just didn’t expect you to say that.”

“Guess I’m full of surprises.”

“I guess you are.” She drags her teeth over her bottom lip, then bends down to lay a kiss on my chest. My heart thunders away as I watch her lips press against my skin.

“You’re so beautiful, honey,” I murmur.

She smiles, continuing to kiss my skin. “Will you stay over tonight, Boone?”

“Of course I will.”

She continues to kiss me, moving down a little at a time. The further she goes, the hotter her kisses feel. I’m hard again by the time she reaches my cock, and when she slides her perfect lips over my hard-on, I exhale a deep groan.
